The first book that Patrick ever read was Tales of the South Pacific by James Michener. So four our Honey moon we went to the French Polynesia and all of the islands were must see as Jimmy Buffett sings about in One particular Harbor, one island for its hospitality and beauty and uniqueness stands out Huahine who’s name means island of the ladies who have sex. Actually named for the way the island looks when seen from the sky a lady reclined in water, but the island has a unique history on other islands women are in small numbers so much so after the second son males are raised as daughters. So many of the women you meet are males. But on Huahine they have always been the majority and ruled the island. Their warriors were women and very fierce.

The one must do on the island is the feeding of the scared eels . The eels are believed to defend from a warrior prince who tried to take the daughter of the island Goddess he got changed into a blue eyed eel , all the eels in this fresh water creek have blue eyes so the daughter of the Goddess could not find him. We were asked to partake in the feeding of them, but Patrick whimped out stating they look to much like snakes but I feed them who knows maybe I feed the prince.
